December Saturday in NYC

skyscraperIt was the annual bus trip to NYC to see the Christmas tree and the windows and all the sights.  That means = up at 4:30 AM, leave by 5:45 and arrive in NYC by 9:30 AM.

My friend, Laura, and I were the adventurers  for this trip.  We had planned to visit the Chelsea Food Market and then the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and if possible to see the tree and the ice skating rink and all the excitement of Rockefeller Center.  All went as planned.  We got pretty good at the subway directions.  This was my most extensive subway adventure in NYC and I believe it was for Laura too.  I have always preferred to stay above ground if at all possible.

Chelsea Food Market was very good.  I had some raw clams & an Oyster Po’Boy for lunch.  YUMMM!   Lots of nice vendors there.

The Botanical Gardens will be really good in the spring or summer. Not so good now as they do not have a lot of conservatory displays.  But I can see that it is a wonderful place to visit when the flowers are ripe for picking (or pressing :::-)))  It is one of those places that I have always wanted to go.

We returned to see the lights and excitement of NYC and the Christmas tree and windows.  It was like being in a swarm of bees.  If you did not go with the flow you were finished.  Crowds like that are not my thing.  But after all, it was a December Saturday in NYC!!

Although very hard to choose which photo I prefer, I do like the first two best. Probably the birds because of more action & wildlife in general!
    They are all beautifully photographed.
